Our 20/21 academic year: COVID Information

On Saturday 31 October, the Government announced a four-week ‘lockdown’ in England coming into effect on Thursday 5 November. In his statement the Prime Minister clearly identified that it was a priority to keep schools and universities open to support the education and wellbeing of young people.

We have undertaken extensive work at Southampton to ensure that our campuses are COVID- secure. The support of our staff and student community in adhering to guidance means that we are fortunate that our Covid-19 cases are comparably low and our processes are proving effective.  The University will continue to operate at Tier 1 of the Department for Education (DfE) levels, but we will review this regularly.
